Hello World

Hello there. It's been awhile. We are still here. It's been a whirlwind of a month. Let me give you a little breakdown:

Jillian started Karate and LOVES it!!!

She finished first grade with a bang and can't wait to start 2nd grade

We are all out of school now and starting the 3rd week of our summer vacation

Mikayla graduated :(

We took a weeks vacation and went to San Diego where the weather was gorgeous. And then we suprised Jillian on her birthday by taking her to Disneyland

And now we are recharging the batteries and gearing up for some summer fun.

Jillian was born with several heart defects that were detected after she was born. The technical diagnoses are Transposition of the Great Arteries, Interrupted Aortic Arch, Double Outlet Right Ventricle and Ventricular Septal Defect with a straddling mitral valve. Because of the straddling mitral valve her defects could not be corrected. Her heart anatomy is now functioning as a single ventricle and she has undergone three open heart surgeries to allow her a life with us. She received her first open heart surgery when she was 6 days old. Her second open heart surgery was at 12 weeks old. She completed the third stage of the three staged surgery, or the Fontan as it is referred to, in May of 2007.
